Outline of Research at the Start

金属錯体は種々の機能性を示す物質だが、普通は高融点の固体である。ところが申請者らは、金属錯体をイオン液体化する方法を用いて、多彩な機能性液体を開発してきた。本課題では、こうした金属錯体系液体の研究に、新たに空間の概念を導入し、電子物性、化学反応性、および空間機能の三軸方向に統合展開する。すなわち種々の物性・反応性を有する機能性イオン液体を開発し、それらを用いた空間構築・空間機能開拓を行う。こうして液体と固体を俯瞰した、機能物質科学の新領域を拓く。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本課題は、電子物性、化学反応性、および空間機能を有する金属錯体系イオン液体の物質開発を目的とする。本年度は、外場応答性を有する各種の金属錯体系イオン液体の開発を継続した。第一に、結合異性化を示すイオン液体を実現した。SCN配位子を持つハーフサンドイッチ型ルテニウム含有イオン液体は、N配位体とS配位体の7:3混合物として得られ、両者はクロマトグラフィーで分離できた。ＵＶ光照射または加熱によって、Ｎ配位からＳ配位への異性化が起こった。これらは有機溶媒中で吸収のシフトを示し、その溶媒依存性が異性体によって異なった。第二に、レニウムトリカルボニル錯体をカチオンとする発光性イオン液体を合成した。この液体に、各種の配位性有機溶媒蒸気の存在下でUV光を照射すると、光化学的配位子交換による色変化と発光の消光が起こった。すなわち、ベーポクロミズムの光制御が実現した。第三に、光反応性イオン液体の物質開発の継続として、置換基およびアニオン種の効果を検討した。従来は配位性置換基としてシアノ基を用いていたが、ブチルチオ基を導入したイオン液体でも、UV光照射と加熱によるイオン伝導性制御が発現した。ただし光反応率が低く、反応機構も異なっていた。また、これらの融点は対アニオンに応じて顕著に変化したが、結晶状態での充填率も融点に大きく影響することがわかった。第四に、前年度の継続として、光反応性イオン液体に低分子ゲル化剤を加えて調製したイオン液体ゲルの光・熱応答性を調べた。配位性置換基を１個または３個有するイオン液体からなるゲルは、UV光照射によって、それぞれ固いゲルおよびゴム状固体に転換し、いずれも加熱によって元のゲルに戻った。この変化に伴って、イオン伝導度の可逆変化も生じた。以上に加え、いくつかのビフェロセン類の塩の結晶構造と原子価状態の相関を明らかにした。

多様な金属錯体からなる外場応答性イオン液体の開発を進めてきた。新たな機構に基づく外場応答性イオン液体が複数見出され、今後の展開につながる成果が出ている。このように進捗状況に問題はない。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

次年度は、金属錯体系イオン液体の広範な物質開発を継続するとともに、それらの組織化に向けた物質探索を行う。第一に、混合原子価イオン液体の実現を目的として、ビフェロセン系物質からなるイオン液体の液体物性の評価を進める。第二に、イオン液体を用いた光ゲル化剤の実現に取り組む。第三に、光反応性イオン液体の置換基効果の検討を継続し、早い光応答性と付加的機能の実現を目指す。
