Outline of Research at the Start

水の電気分解は環境負荷の小さい水素製造法の一つである。本研究課題では、遷移金属酸化物を対象とした材料開発を実施し、水の電気分解に対して有用な水素発生触媒の材料設計指針の確立を目的とした研究を行う。超高圧合成法を用いて酸素欠損を含む様々な化合物を合成し、最先端の分析手法により触媒の構造・電子状態を明らかにし、将来の材料開発に資する水素発生触媒の設計原理を確立することを最終的な目標とする。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

研究実績の概要
再生可能エネルギーを用いた水電解水素製造において用いられる遷移金属酸化物を対象とした触媒材料探索を実施し、酸素・水素発生触媒における材料設計指針の確立を目的とした研究を行っている。本年度に得られた主な成果は以下の通りである。
1. マグネトプランバイト酸化物の酸素発生触媒活性における異元素間シナジーと複合要因 マグネトプランバイトBaFe12-xCoxO19を超高圧合成法によって合成し、Co添加量(x)に対する酸素発生反応(OER)活性の依存性を調べた。OER活性がxに対して非単調に変化したことに基づき、複数の要素が競合するシナジーが働くことを明らかにした。
2. ペロブスカイト酸化物の酸素発生触媒活性における異元素間シナジー 異常高原子価イオンFe4+・Co4+からなるペロブスカイト型酸化物CaFe1-xCoxO3を超高圧合成法によって合成し、OER活性の組成依存性を調べた。CaFeO3 (CaCoO3)に対して、微量のCo(Fe)添加で一様にOER活性が向上するオフセット型のシナジーが観察された。
3. ペロブスカイト酸化物OER触媒における5元素混合効果 5種(Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni)の遷移金属イオンが任意の割合で含まれるペロブスカイト酸化物LaMO3 (M = Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni)において、OER触媒活性が最大となる組成をベイズ最適化によって求めた。単独のペロブスカイト酸化物で比較的高活性を示す元素(Fe, Co, Ni)を高濃度で含む場合に高いOER活性を示すことを明らかにし、先行研究で報告された性能を上回った。
