| Outline of Research at the Start |
在宅においても実践できる看護師のための口腔ケア・アセスメント標準ガイドラインを作成し、その効果を評価する研究である。研究の内容は大きく2つに分かれる。１つは、標準的な口腔ケア・アセスメントガイドラインを歯科医師-看護師共同で作成し、看護師のスキル向上に関して評価することである。あと１つは、標準的な口腔ケア・アセスメントガイドライン使用前後の、対象となる高齢者のオーラルフレイルを評価する。また、縦断的研究によって、高齢者のオーラルフレイルを予防する要因を明らかにすることである。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The contents of the functional oral health care nursing education guidelines were taught to ward nurses and visiting nurses at an oral health care nursing education workshop (17 hospitals and 4 visiting nursing stations). Seventy-three percent of the participating nurses answered “very easy to understand” and 27% answered “easy to understand,” indicating that the importance of oral care was reaffirmed, and that the information was useful for improving practical skills and sharing knowledge in the field.

本研究の取り組みは、看護ケアの中では優先順位が低いものされがちな口腔ケアを全身的ケアの一環として実施するという意識の変革につながるものとなった。看護師の口腔ケアアセスメントおよび技術は、これらの丁寧な学びによって向上することが示され、看護師の高齢者のオーラルフレイルを予防する口腔ケアやアセスメントの技術の向上に資することができた。
