Outline of Research at the Start

動物に普遍的に見られる予測性適応運動制御の神経機構を明らかにし，それを脳型制御器として計算機上に実装して，実機の予測性制御を実現することを目的とする．ほぼ全ての脊椎動物で観測される視運動性眼球運動（OKR）と呼ばれる反射性の眼球運動を対象とし，ヒト，マウス，金魚における予測性OKR獲得の脳内機構を神経生理学的アプローチにより，神経ネットワークと神経細胞活動のレベルで理解する．ここでは，従来知見と本研究で得られる動物種横断的な実験結果を忠実に反映させた神経回路モデル（脳型予測制御器）を構築する．この脳型予測制御器を実機制御に適用し，ロボット等の機械系が予測制御機能を獲得可能なことを実証する．

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では，動物に普遍的に見られる予測性適応運動制御の神経機構を明らかにし，それを脳型制御器として計算機上に実装して，実機の予測性制御を実現することを目的とする．ほぼ全ての脊椎動物で観測される視運動性眼球運動(OKR)と呼ばれる反射性の眼球運動を対象とし，ヒト，マウス，金魚における予測性OKR獲得の脳内機構を神経生理学的アプローチにより，神経ネットワークと神経細胞活動のレベルで理解する．これまでの我々の魚を対象とした研究から，予測性OKR には小脳と脳幹前庭神経核間を並列・再帰的に接続する神経ネットワークが深く関与することが示唆されており，ここでは，これらの知見と本研究で得られる動物種横断的な実験結果を忠実に反映させた小脳・脳幹数理モデル(脳型予測制御器)を構築する．さらに，この脳型予測制御器を実機制御に適用し，ロボット等の機械システムが予測制御機能を獲得可能なことを評価・実証する.
本研究では，次の4つのレベルの研究を進め，上記目的の達成を目指している：1 行動，2 神経細胞活動，3 神経ネットワーク，4 工学応用．R4年度は，引き続き，N増しのため金魚とマウスの予測性OKR誘発・評価実験を実施し，種間の差異の起源を探るとともに，これと平行して，小脳・脳幹神経回路を陽に記述したOKRモデルによる予測性OKR学習シミュレーション解析を行った．モデルシミュレーションを通し，行動実験と神経活動計測実験で示される動物種間の差異と類似性の再現，ならびにOKRの予測性制御に不可欠な神経機構として同定されている速度蓄積機構（VSM）の活動を模擬することにより，その起源を神経ネットワークの振舞いのレベルで明らかにすることを試みた．

Reason

引き続き，世界的半導体不足の影響により一部実験装置の選定・導入が遅れたが，装置の自作や国内市販品の組み合わせ等で代用し，N増しのための実験・評価を実施できた．その結果，ほぼ予定していた動物実験ならびにモデリング・シミュレーション解析が進み，外部発表や論文執筆のために必要なデータが取得できた.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後は，「研究実績の概要」に記した4つのレベルにおける３と４のアプローチを中心に進め，必要に応じて１と２のアプローチも実施して，研究期間終了時の本提案研究目的達成を目指す.
