Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、Anomalous電子(余剰電子/ホール)が原子間結合に干渉することで材料の強度・機械的特性を書き換える根源的なメカニズムを解明して、その学理を構築する。このため、電子を制御した微小体積試験体への強度実験と量子論的(第一原理)解析により、Anomalous電子による強度変化特性を解明する。さらに、その特異な電子状態を評価し、「電子応力」を抽出する独自理論により、電子的強化機構と法則を解明する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は、1.電子/ホール注入材に対する強度実験、2.疲労・クリープ特性への展開、3.電子注入材の強度解析、および、4.強化機構の解明に取り組んだ。研究実績の概要は以下の通りである。
1.前年度に引き続き、電子注入材に対する強度試験を実施してデータの拡充を図った。主要な成果として、アモルファス絶縁体である合成石英に対する電子/ホール注入・除去と破壊じん性試験を行い、余剰電子/ホールを静電気として注入すると、破壊じん性が2倍以上に劇的に向上し長期間維持されること、および、注入した余剰電子/ホールを周囲環境の制御(熱処理等)により除去すると、向上した強度が一部復元することを明らかにした。すなわち、高強度を自在に付与したり取り除いたりすることが可能であり、材料強度のリライタブル性を実証した。
2.前年度までに導入・整備した力学試験装置を用いて、繰返し負荷および長時間の荷重負荷試験を可能とし、電子/ホール制御条件下における疲労およびクリープ特性を評価する方法を確立した。
3.共有結合性、イオン結合性、および金属結合性の典型材料を対象として、電子注入材に対する強度解析を系統的に実施して、結合様式や負荷モードによる強化法則を体系化した。とくに、余剰電子/ホールによる電子的効果は引張強度とせん断強度で異なる傾向を示し、脆性破壊から延性破壊など、変形・破壊形態を大きく変化させることを明らかにした。
4.実験と解析によって得た電子注入材の強度特性とその電子応力状態解析結果を基に、Anomalous電子による強化機構および結合様式・負荷モード依存性を電子論に基づいて解明した。
