| Outline of Research at the Start |
In natural ecosystems with complex spatial structure, dispersal is a key process governing biodiversity patterns. However, the role of dispersal in driving the patterns remains unclear. I aim to obtain a mechanistic understanding of how dispersal on complex spatial structure affect the patterns.

２０２１年度には、昨年度に引き続きメタ群集（個体の生息地間の移動分散を通して相互作用している局所群集の集まり）の理論研究をさらに発展させ、メタ群集の安定性の解析に焦点を当てて研究を行ってきた。コンピュータシミュレーションを用いることで、メタ群集の空間構造がどのように安定性に影響を与えるかを検証した。特に、コンピュータシミュレーションを用いることで可能となる多様な空間構造や環境条件の設定が鍵となり、メタ群集の空間構造を特徴づけるパラメータの中でも、そのサイズが安定性に大きく関わるということと、その仕組みを明らかにすることができた。この研究結果は、近日中に学術誌へ提出する予定である。
同時に、海洋のメタ群集の空間構造を解析し、これまでの理論研究との比較をおこなった。これにより、海洋メタ群集の空間構造と動態の理解には、分散経路に加えて、分散頻度も考慮に入れることが重要であることが示された。
さらに、これまでの研究をもとに、目標としていた博士論文「The effects of dispersal network structure on biodiversity pattern and stability in metacommunities」の執筆・提出を完了し、博士号を取得した。
