Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、2020年代初頭、急激に実験精度の向上する暗黒物質直接探索実験に注目し、暗黒物質理論を多角的に探索する。具体的には、(1)実験を手がかりにしたボトムアップ的な探究、(2)理論的な動機に基づくトップダウン的な探究、(3)新しい性質を持つ暗黒物質理論の可能性の探究という三つの観点から理論模型を解析し、次世代直接探索実験で検証すべき領域を理論側から提示する。また、次世代直接探索実験から公表されたデータを用いて理論の予言値を検証し、暗黒物質の正体解明のための重要な知見を引き出す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、「電弱相互作用する暗黒物質候補のスピンの識別可能性」の研究課題遂行を行った。暗黒物質の理論特定、そしてその背後の理論の可能性探求のために、特に重要な量子数の特定として、「同じ電弱相互作用を持つ暗黒物質のスピンの識別」が挙げられる。超対称性理論が予言する候補(スピン1/2)と余剰次元理論が予言する候補(スピン1)の識別がこの具体例に相当する。両者の識別可能性を帰結するためには、電弱相互作用の効果を取り込んだ現象解析とスピン依存性の抽出が必要不可欠である。
本論文では、電弱相互作用するスピン1の暗黒物質の対消滅過程を解析した。まず、スピン1の暗黒物質について電弱相互作用の効果を取り入れた非相対論的有効理論を構築し、暗黒物質二体の有効作用を導出した。そして、初期宇宙における暗黒物質の対消滅過程を数値的に解き、スピン1/2とスピン1の場合について、適切なエネルギー密度を予言する暗黒物質の質量域を特定した。さらに、現在の宇宙で起こった暗黒物質対消滅に由来する銀河中心領域の単色ガンマ線に注目し、対消滅断面積の予言値のスピン依存性を調べた。これらの解析を通して、スピン1の暗黒物質理論の枠組みに含まれる、暗黒物質よりも重い中性ベクトルの質量が、現象論を特徴づける重要なパラメータであると突き止めた。特に、暗黒物質二体から、中性ベクトルと光子への対消滅が起きると、ガンマ線のエネルギースペクトルに二つの識別可能な単色ピークが予言される。ピークの位置は対消滅に関わる粒子の質量で決定するため、この特有のシグナルが見つかれば理論のスペクトルを再構築することができる。この事象に関して、ガンマ線観測のエネルギー分解能を考慮し、二つの単色ピークが観測される理論のパラメータ領域を明らかにした。
