Outline of Research at the Start

原始重力波は今後の重力波観測の主なターゲットである。しかしながら、重力波信号は極めて微弱で、信号よりずっと大きな雑音の中からデータ解析によって見つけ出さなければならない。ガウス雑音のもとで有効な解析手法は知られているが、宇宙重力波望遠鏡による原始重力波の観測においては、コンパクト連星合体の重力波が非ガウス性の前景雑音となる。このような雑音への対処法として我々は、信号の非ガウス性・統計的独立性を利用した独立成分解析を用いた解析を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

採用最終年度である本年度では、前年度までに開発を進めていた信号解析手法の研究の成果取りまとめや、今後の研究に向けた議論に注力した。特に前年度から取り組んでいる非線形な結合に対処可能な独立成分解析(ICA)の実装について、KAGRAの現地スタッフらと多くの議論を交わしている。これらの議論をもとに解析手法の拡充を成し遂げた暁には、宇宙検出器での背景重力波探索パイプラインにICAを組み込んでいく段階へと移行する。
一方で、前年度計画から取り組んでいた宇宙ひも由来の背景重力波の研究に続く形で、一次相転移を起源とした重力波の研究に現在取り組んでいる。将来的には、これらの研究によって予言される重力波信号を用いることで、複数の信号が存在するような、原始重力波探索の包括的なシミュレーションを実施したいと考えている。
また、本年度は重力波データ解析に関する研究の他にも、背景重力波の理論予言に間接的に関連するアクシオンインフレーション中の荷電粒子生成や、重力波検出器を用いた軽量ダークマター探索など、関連する課題にも多数取り組み、非常に生産的な一年となった。
