Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、日本において女性科学者がいつ、どのように誕生したかについて一次史料・二次史料に基づき系統的に調査し、その実態を解明することを主眼とする。明治期から昭和前期までに科学研究をした女性の経歴・研究内容を調査し、プロソポグラフィーにより特徴を剔出、また女性に科学教育を実施した教育機関、女性研究者を支えた教育者・研究者の役割、女性研究者を受け入れた研究機関、学会などの諸制度の状況と変遷を調査する。それらのデータを学問史、制度史、社会文化史、女性史の視点から分析して、女性が科学者になることを可能にした社会的な仕組みを明らかにする。
