| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は従来政治的意図で偏頗を免れなかった魯迅、周作人（周氏兄弟）の文学的評価を緻密なテクスト考証によって再検討し、文学者としての思想根幹を解明しようとする試みである。『語絲』刊行期における周氏兄弟の思想的親和性とその後の分岐要因を解明し、文学史に位置づけることを目的とする。特に1）周氏兄弟の翻訳の比較、2）周氏兄弟の女師大事件、三・一八事件における対応の比較、3）周氏兄弟と『語絲』同人との関係、以上3点を重点的に研究することで、従来の孤立的な個別作家研究の限界を超克し、相互に影響を及ぼしつつ成長し、ついに袂を分かった周氏兄弟を中心とする『語絲』作家像を描出したい。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We began this research to reexamine the literary evaluation of the Zhou brothers, which had not been free from partiality due to political agendas, and to elucidate the basis of their thought as literary scholars. In order to elucidate the ideological affinity between the Zhou brothers during the publication period of “Yusi” and the factors that led to their subsequent divergence, and to place them in the history of literature. We were able to hold an online symposium and publish the research journal “Research on the Zhou Brothers” from FY2022. We believe that we have succeeded in overcoming the limitations of conventional, isolated research on individual writers, and in developing a picture of the Zhou brothers and “Yusi” writers.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
研究成果の学術的意義は、この研究を通して従来顧みられなかった『語絲』における周作人の戦闘的な一面をテクストに即して解明した点にあり、その対蹠的な立場にあった魯迅の新たな一面の解明にもつながったと考える。この研究の推進を通して実現した社会的な意義としては、今回の研究を通して、今後の周氏兄弟研究を担う中国と日本の若手研究者をオンラインとはいえ一堂に会して討論する機会を設けて、近来コロナ禍のもとで激減していた日本と中国との間での文化的交流にも資するところがあった点を強調したい。
