Outline of Research at the Start

This project explores positive intercultural contact through the performing arts between Japan, the Philippines and Taiwan. Focussing on heritage forms such as Japanese Noh and Philippine Rondalla, it incorporates video conferencing, educational exchange, and international festival performances.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

During the 2023 academic year, a full chapter version of the paper Noh, Zen and Now was published as follows:
Rockell, K. (2023). Noh, Zen and Now. In M. Hadzantonis and A. H. Omar (Eds.), the GLOCAL Conference Proceedings Series. The GLOCAL in Asia 2022 (pp. 130-150). London, U.K.: The GLOCAL, the Global Council for Anthropological Linguistics Publishers. doi:https://doi.org/10.47298/cala2022.4-3.

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

Having passed through the pandemic period and life returning more or less to normal, it is now possible to conduct research in a positive manner.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

To complete the project, I intend to publish one final paper and report on the overall project at an international conference.
