Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research constructed several dynamic general equilibrium models that can explain the reversal of college enrollment rates between men and women. The main findings are as follows: (1) The reversal of college enrollment rates between men and women is strongly related to changes in fertility behavior; (2) The non-monotonic change of the gender gap in higher education can explain the occurrence of the baby boom to a certain extent; ③ Both brain-biased technological change and increases in total factor productivity occurring simultaneously are important in explaining the historical changes in college enrollment rates between men and women, ④ Inefficiencies arise due to the failure of men and women forming marital relationships to coordinate their actions in advance, and such inefficiencies result in significant distortions in college enrollment rates.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
