Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、昨今の自動車産業の急激な技術革新(例、CASE)が製品の設計思想(クローズド・インテグラル型対オープン・モジュラー型)に与える影響力を検証するために、日韓中米のEV関連企業の研究開発・事業戦略を「特許情報(共同発明者、特許分類)」と「非特許情報(資本・取引・提携関係)」などで比較検討するものである。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study examines the conflicting product design concepts of closed-integral and open-modular types in EVs from the aspect of R&D and business strategies of EV-related companies. In the case of Japanese automobile companies, the dominant strategy is to gradually adopt an open-modular product design while maintaining traditional closed-integral type inter-firm relationships to respond to rapid technological innovation. On the other hand, EV companies and EV battery companies in Europe, the U.S., Korea, and China also tend to promote the open modular type in their EV business. In this study, we use social network analysis and text mining to visualize the evolution of product design concepts of EV-related companies in a dynamic and multidimensional manner.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

研究の学術的独自性と創造性は、第一に、日韓米中のEV各社の製品設計思想の観点から、各社の研究開発・事業戦略のパターンと経営成果との関連性を検証する点である。第二に、日韓米中のEV 企業の研究開発・事業戦略について「特許情報」と「非特許情報」を交差させながら、経時的に比較検討する点である。本研究の方法論的な独創性は、第一に、テキストマイニングと社会ネットワーク分析の併用した点である。第二に、申請者らは本研究課題に向けた予備分析を通じて、海外の大学・企業等との共同研究体制の基礎を築いてきた点である。今回の研究対象は現在進行中の事例であり、研究上の未開拓分野で新たな知見が多く得られると期待できる。
