| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究の学術的な問いを「公共交通の連携と統合による利便性向上が訪日外客の旅行行動にどの程度影響を与えているのか」と設定し、下記の研究を進める。
①グラビティモデルによる訪日外客数の決定要因分析と公共交通連携の効果分析
②交通選択モデルによる公共交通連携の効果分析：福島空港を対象
③地域内公共交通統合の先進事例の研究（④の補完的な事例研究）
④地域内公共交通における統合効果の分析：公共交通の運賃、情報発信および決済による利便性の向上が当該地域への訪日外客数増加に寄与することを定量的に研究（DID（差分の差分）分析を想定）

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study could not proceed as originally planned because much of the study period overlapped the period of the new coronavirus outbreak. However, this study found the following three points.
Firstly, in conducting an analysis of the joint management of local public transport based on the results of interviews with several relevant actors, we found the factors that contribute to the realization of collaboration. Secondly, we analyzed the current status and issues of coordination and integration of public transport in the UK and EU, and compared the status of coordination and integration in public transport in the UK and Japan. And finally, we quantitatively analyzed the alternative and complementary relationships between air and rail in Japan, and examined the coordination of different transportation modes.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
これまでの地方公共交通の連携や統合を対象とした先行研究は，事例研究や制度の変遷を整理する研究が多く，他の交通分野と比較しても国内外で実証的な研究が数少なかった。そのため，本研究は，定性的な分析とともに実証的な分析で地方公共交通の連携ならびに統合の効果を検証した。このような体系的な研究はまだなく，本研究成果の学術的意義といえる。くわえて，本研究の研究成果は，今後の地方公共交通規政策のあり方を検討する際に有用な資料となりうると思われる。近年注目されているEBPMの観点からみても本研究の研究成果には一定の社会的意義を見出せる。
