| Outline of Research at the Start |
気候変動の影響が深刻化する中、その問題を正しく理解し、地方自治体の環境政策等の検討の場に参加して持続可能性の観点から的確な提言をする力や、地域で地球温暖化防止や気候変動への適応に向けた活動を企画・実施できる力を持った市民の育成が早急に求められる。本研究では、地域で効果的な気候変動対策を企画・実施するために必要なコンピテンシー（応用可能な知識と能力、意欲の組合せ）を特定し、人材像を設定したうえで、それらの条件を満たすための気候変動教育能力開発プログラムを開発し、日本の様々な地域で地域の人々と実施することによって、地域での気候変動リーダー育成を目指す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research project, I have developed climate change capacity building programs, which aim nurturing person who can plan and implement regional climate change countermeasures.
I summarized the program and created a guidebook for educators and published it via website of Rikkyo University. In order to find and incorporate educational contents, which can be adapted into Japanese climate change education program, I invited German ESD specialist and exchanged views on climate change education programs and jointly held workshops incorporating the concept of systems thinking. And then I conducted interview surveys to regional managers in charge of regional climate change countermeasures in Austria and got information about skills and qualification for working as a manager.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究では、気候変動教育能力開発プログラムの開発に際し、研究者へのヒアリングや、ドイツやアメリカの気候変動教育で実施されている学習手法を採用して学習内容を設定した。また、国内及び海外のESD研究者及び実践者、地域の地球温暖化防止活動推進センター等と協議しながら教育プログラムを実施することで、学際的な視点や地域独自の視点を組み込んだプログラムの開発・実施が可能となった。全国8か所で、様々な対象者向けにプログラムを実施して改善を図ったことで、どの地域でも応用可能な教育プログラムの土台が完成した。また、ガイドブックをホームページで公開することによって、教育者が同様の活動を実施できるようにした。
