Outline of Research at the Start

1990年代に理論物理学の研究から発見されたカラビ・ヤウ多様体のミラー対称性は,複素多様体の研究に大きな成果をもたらしている.その一方で,ミラー対称性に潜む数理の解明は幾何学における大きな未解決問題となっている.本研究では,”特色のある”カラビ・ヤウ多様体とそれにミラー対称なカラビ・ヤウ多様体の族を見つけ出し,それらの変形空間の大域的な構造の解析を行うことによって,ミラー対称性の幾何学の解明に向けた着実な研究の蓄積を行う.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

これまでの研究計画の遂行によって,(1,8)型の偏極アーベル曲面をファイバー空間とするカラビ・ヤウ多様体のモジュライ空間に興味深い性質が多数見つかっている.特に,このカラビ・ヤウ多様体の族に対する周期積分の具体的な計算において随所で楕円モジュラー関数が現れていて,その起源はファイバーに現れているアーベル曲面であろうと予想された.昨年度は,この予想の解決に繋がるとの見込みから,種数が2のジーゲル上半空間が現れる格子偏極K3曲面の族について研究を深めて「BCOV尖点形式」を導入するにいたり,それが次数が10の井草尖点形式で表されることを見つけた.今年度は,研究計画の最終年度に当たるため,両者の幾何学に共通する点に焦点をあてて,今後の発展に繋がるように計算結果を理論的に整理することを行った.その結果,別のアーベル曲面をファイバーとするカラビ・ヤウ多様体(シェーンのカラビ・ヤウ多様体)との類似が見つかり,カラビ・ヤウ多様体の高次種数のグロモフ・ウィッテン不変量の母関数と次数が10の井草尖点形式との関係が随所で見えてきた.全貌を明らかにするために,グロモフ・ウィッテン不変量の生成母関数を計算する正則アノマリー方程式の構造解明を行い,低次種数の具体的な計算手法を整備し種数4または5までの生成母関数のデータを作成した.井草尖点形式との繋がりが現れることを予想しつつ具体的な計算を実施した結果,未定なパラメータを境界条件を課して決定するところまで,生成母関数の形を決定することが出来た.境界条件の設定は正則アノマリー方程式の幾何学構造とも密接に関係することが判明したが,未定パラメータを決定する問題は残された.

アーベル曲面をファイバー空間にもつカラビ・ヤウ多様体が,予想以上に興味深い多様体であることには確信が持てたが,具体的な計算手法である正則アノマリー方程式の解の構成と幾何学構造の解明に於いてやや遅れている.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

(1,8)型アーベル曲面をファイバー空間にもつカラビ・ヤウ多様体の変形空間のコンパクト化は出来上がっている.この変形空間の大局的な解析と,大局的な幾何構造に焦点を当てて研究を更に深め,次の研究計画にこれまでに得られた研究成果が引き継がれるように,計算のまとめと同時に理論的な整理を行う.
