Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
We live in a world in which quantum laws hold. Quantum computers and quantum telecommunication, where we explicitly make use of quantum effects, have a power beyond traditional information processing. In order to perform information processing with quantum coherence, it is essential to carry out operations, for example, in a quantum computer. We have established a fundamental theory of time-optimal quantum control, where one can find the fastest way to realize any given quantum operation in any given system.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
