Outline of Research at the Start

微細結晶粒を持つバルク状の金属材料 (バルクナノメタル)における超伝導は,通常の金属にはない特異な電気的・磁気的性質 (超伝導転移する温度や磁場の増大など) を示すことが申請者らにより見出されている.本研究では,バルクナノメタルの特異な超伝導物性に着目し,微細結晶粒に発現する超伝導秩序と磁束状態のナノ構造制御を行うことを目的とし,巨視的物性 (磁化,電気抵抗率) と走査プローブ顕微鏡による物性測定を行う.特に,超伝導体の熱力学 (磁束状態の相転移) を超微細結晶粒により制御し,磁場に弱い金属元素超伝導体を強磁場応用に有利な第Ⅱ種超伝導体へ変換する新しい手法を確立する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は,金属系を中心とした超伝導体に対して巨大ひずみ加工により微細結晶粒を導入したバルクナノメタルの超伝導特性を明らかにすることを目的とした.そのために,磁化,電気抵抗,走査プローブ顕微鏡などの手法を用いた実験と理論的研究を実施し,下記の成果が得られた.
(1)前年度に引き続き,巨大ひずみ加工の一種である高圧ねじり (HPT) 加工を用いてNb, Ta, V, NbTi, Nb3Snなどの様々な超伝導体の作製を行った.2023年度は,これまでに研究を行った2元合金 (NbTi) に対して更に3元素を追加した多元素合金Hf21Nb25Ti15V15Zr24についてもHPT加工を行い,その超伝導特性の変化を調べた.
(2)従来型の超伝導体の中でも特に高磁場用の超伝導線材に実用化されているNb3SnについてHPT加工を行った結果,臨界電流密度などの超伝導特性が低下する結果が昨年度に得られた.そのため,HPT加工前後の試料についてX線回折を行い結晶構造を確認した.その結果,HPT加工後も試料は単相であり超伝導特性の低下は析出相などの影響ではないことが分かった.
(3)Hf21Nb25Ti15V15Zr24合金について,HPT加工前後の超伝導特性の変化を調べるためSQUID磁束計で磁化の温度・磁場依存性の測定を行った.また,SQUID顕微鏡を用いて局所磁気測定を行い量子化磁束の観測を行った.磁化測定の結果,HPT加工後には不可逆磁場が増加し,超伝導領域が高温高磁場側に広がることが分かった.

Reason

試料の作製と評価,走査プローブ顕微鏡実験,磁化測定など,研究計画調書に記入した予定の通り進捗しているため,「おおむね順調に進展している」と自己評価した.
ただし,当初の研究計画にはなかった多元素合金についても新しい研究対象としたため,研究の遂行と取りまとめに時間を要している.

研究計画通り順調に進展しており,当初の研究計画は着実に実施している.当初の研究が順調に進んたため,申請時の研究計画にはなかった多元素合金についても研究を行っている.そのため,研究期間を延長し,2024年度を最終年度として研究の実施と取りまとめを行う予定である.また,2024年度には研究内容を取りまとめて成果の公表を行う予定である.
