Outline of Research at the Start

複雑な交通環境を知覚、理解、予測する能力、すなわち状況認識能力は安全運転に強く影響する。注意は人間のすべての認知プロセスに影響を与え、状況認識の処理過程に深く関与している。状況認識能力と注意力の低下は高齢者運転者の交通事故の重要な原因であると言われている。しかし、注意と状況認識の脳機能機構はまだ十分解明されていない。本研究では、高齢者の注意と状況認識の脳機能ネットワークを提案し、注意による高齢者の状況認識の支援効果を提案・評価する。最後、注意と状況認識の研究成果に基づいて高齢運転者状況認識支援システムを研究開発する。本研究の成果は高齢運転者の状況認識能力を改善し、交通事故の減少に貢献できる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度の研究計画は、昨年度解明した注意と状況認識の脳機能ネットワークと注意の3つのサブネットワークの仮説に基づいて、注意訓練による高齢者の状況認識の支援方法を提案し、ドライビングシミュレータを用いて高齢運転者運転者の支援効果を評価する。また、申請者らの実績を生かして注意情報、状況認識情報と高齢運転者のデータベースを構築し、注意と状況認識脳機能ネットワークの基礎研究成果に基づいて視覚・聴覚・触覚の多感覚支援情報生成システムを製作する。認知・脳波・眼球運動のデータ取得システムを製作して、計測結果を認知データ、脳波データと眼動データを取得する。最後に、注意と状況認識脳機能ネットワークの基礎研究成果と取得した認知・脳波・眼動データに基づいて高齢運転者への支援効果の評価システムを研究開発する。以上の研究計画は、コロナの関係で、現地研究の実施は難しくなったため、研究の進みはやや遅くなっている。特に高齢運転者への状況認識の支援方法の提案は今まだ実施中である。このため、研究代表者と分担者らは1年間の延長を申請した。但し、この間に視覚空間注意による復帰抑制に関する研究や、状況認識などの脳波研究とEEG研究を順調に進んでている。この成果は6件の学術論文を掲載された。以上の成果によって、本研究最終年度の研究計画の基礎テータを準備できたと考えられる。延長した再終年度の計画では、以上の成果に踏まえて、高齢運転者の状況認識支援システムを研究開発し、評価実験も行うと目指している。

Reason

2019年末からコロナの影響を受け、日本現地の研究活動が難しくなったため、研究の進みはネットミーティングで行っていた。その原因で、本研究全体的な計画の進みは遅くなっている。特に高齢運転者への状況認識の支援方法の提案や、状況認識支援システムの研究開発と評価実験は今まだ実施中である。そのため、研究代表者と分担者はこの研究をまた1年間の延長をした。延長最終年年度の研究は早めに完了すると目指している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

延長した再終年度の計画では、以前の成果に基づいて、高齢運転者の状況認識支援システムを研究開発し、評価実験をこの一年間で早めに完了する目指している。
