Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では二酸化炭素(CO2)をC1化学的な原料として、新規エタノール合成ルートを実現するために、その触媒および反応ステップの探索を目的とする。斬新な二酸化炭素と水素からエタノールまでというタンデムな反応ルートを提案し、厳密な触媒化学に規定されたエタノールの生産ルートをCO2から実施し、大量にCO2を化学転換できる新規ルートの開発を目指す。これに合わせて、触媒設計、触媒性能テスト、触媒構造解析と反応メカニズム分析、触媒反応器の改良を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

C1炭素種は一酸化炭素(CO)、二酸化炭素(CO2)、メタン(CH4)などを含んでいる。様々な炭素資源(天然ガス、バイオマスなど)からC1炭素種を経由して高価なC2+化学品(エタノール、酢酸メチルなど)への転換は炭素資源リサイクルにおいて重要な過程である。CO2からエタノールへの効率転換を実現するため、高活性又は多機能触媒のデザイン及びダイレクト転換できるルートの開発はこの問題解決に不可欠な要素である。本研究ではCOx(COとCO2)を原料とし、エタノールへの新規合成ルートを開拓してきた。特に鍵となる最も重要な一環であるジエチルエーテルのカルボニル化反応に焦点を当て、多種のカルボニル化反応用ゼオライト触媒を開発し、その触媒構造と反応性能を検討した。本年度には、開発したP1ゼオライト触媒は、カルボニル化反応において高い活性と生成物選択性を示し、CO2から直接的にエタノールを含むC2+の高付加価値化学品へ転換することを可能にした。
Na-P1は有機テンプレート剤を使用せずに水熱合成された。Al2O3やOH含有量を変化させて、異なる組成を有するH型ゼオライト(P1-1.0Al、P1-1.1Al 、P1-1.2Al)も合成した。DMEのカルボニル化反応において、そのPゼオライト触媒の性能を評価した。P1ゼオライトは高いカルボニル化反応活性を示した。P1-1.0Alは、反応開始から1時間後にDMEの転化率が36%に達し、その後6時間で19%まで減少した。一方、酢酸メチル(MA)の選択性は93%を維持した。NH3-TPD分析によると、アルミニウム含有量の増加はゼオライトの外表面酸性点を高め、副反応を促進し、結果的にはDME転化率が低下した。しかし、P1-1.0AlのMA収率は0.05 g/gcat・hに達成し、他のゼオライトと比較すると、P1はより優れたカルボニル化性能を示唆した。

Reason

本年度の研究は順調に進展しており、目標を超える成果に達成した。現在までの研究進捗状況をまとめる。
炭素資源リサイクルにおける重要な過程であるCO2からエタノールへの効率的な転換を実現するため、高活性または多機能な触媒のデザインとダイレクトな転換ルートの開発が重要である。本研究では、COx(COとCO2)を原料とし、新規エタノール合成ルートを開拓した。特に、ジエチルエーテルのカルボニル化反応に焦点を当て、多様なカルボニル化反応用ゼオライト触媒を開発した。新規P1ゼオライト触媒は、カルボニル化反応において高い活性と生成物選択性を示し、CO2から直接エタノールを含むC2+の高付加価値化学品への転換を可能にした。
さらに、有機テンプレート剤を使用せずにNa-P1を合成した。Al2O3やOH含有量を変化させることで、異なる組成を持つH型ゼオライト(P1-1.0Al、P1-1.1Al、P1-1.2Al)も調製した。これらのゼオライト触媒の性能評価では、P1ゼオライトは高いカルボニル化反応活性を示した。特に、P1-1.0Alは高い酢酸メチル(MA)の選択性を維持しつつ、DMEの転化率が36%に達した。一方、Al含有量の増加はゼオライトの外表面酸性点を高め、副反応を促進したが、P1-1.0AlのMA収率は0.05 g/gcat・hに達し、他のゼオライトと比較しても優れたカルボニル化性能を示した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

これらの成果に基づいて、今後は以下の方針で研究を推進していく:(1)より高性能な触媒の開発と最適化を行う、(2)新たな反応ルートの探索と効率的な反応条件の確立をする、(3)実用化へ向けた技術の改良と応用性を検証する、(4)国際的な共同研究と学術的な発表の促進を実施する。
これらの取り組みにより、今後も研究の成果をさらに高め、炭素資源の効率的なリサイクルと高付加価値化学品の合成に貢献していく。
