| Outline of Research at the Start |
新オレンジプランの中では、認知症の早期受診の重要性については7つの柱の一つである。我々が2019年5月に行った地域調査では、認知症疑いの人の7割は未受診であり、早期受診は進んではいない。我々は早期受診のために高齢者に対する認知症リテラシー（認知症に関する情報へのアクセス・理解、情報を活用する能力）教育が重要であると考えている。我々は兵庫県明舞地区に対象者1000名の高齢者コホートを構築し、認知症に関する調査研究を進めている。本研究課題では、そのコホートにおいて、認知症リテラシー教育を主とした介入を行い、行動変容を促し、参加者の認知機能、認知症検診受診、認知症の発症などに介入の効果を検証する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research project, research was conducted on three themes. 1: For community-dwelling elderly people, using an existing dementia literacy scale, dementia literacy questionnaires were sent three times before and after intervention. The percentage of correct answers was compared. 2: For community-dwelling elderly people, we sent questionnaires on how they felt about visiting medical institutions for dementia for three years from 2019 to 2022, and changes over the three years. We compared the literacy course participants and non-participants. 3: Targeting community-dwelling elderly people, with the aim of creating a dementia literacy scale in Japanese, we created a Japanese version of the scale and examined the validity of the scale.
1: literacy significantly improved by taking a dementia literacy course. 2: there was no significant change seen in the non-participation group, but the consultation rate increased in the attendance group. 3: we were able to create a satisfactory scale.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
認知症患者は人口の高齢化に従って増加している。認知症に関する知識や情報を得て認知症予防や認知症の早期の気づきや早期受診、進行予防などについて理解すること（認知症リテラシー）は重要となっている。認知症リテラシー講座受講による認知症リテラシーの向上、講座受講と認知症検診受診の促進効果、を明かにし、認知症リテラシー評価尺度の開発を行った本研究は、認知症予防、進行予防を促進し、認知症リテラシーの向上の重要性を認識することとなり、学術的には無論、高齢社会のわが国の保健医療に社会的意義のあるものと思われる。
