Outline of Research at the Start

放射線治療におけるCone-beam CT(CBCT)画像を、深層学習を用いて画質改善させる新たな技術を開発する。放射線治療の実臨床への普遍的な応用を目的として、特定の施設や特定の部位のCBCT画像を画質改善させる学習済みネットワークが、他施設や他部位の画質改善を効率的に行えるよう、学習済みネットワークを転移学習させる新たな枠組みを構築する。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

We developed a new deep-learning technology to improve the image quality of Cone-beam CT (CBCT) in radiation therapy. For the universal application, we investigated a new framework for transfer learning of a trained network that improves the image quality of CBCT at a specific facility or site, so that the trained network can efficiently improve the image quality of other facilities or sites.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

CBCTをcycle-consistency GAN (CycleGAN)等の深層学習のアルゴリズムを用いて画質改善する研究を行った。また発展的利用として医用画像の画像特徴量解析から予後予測を行う研究も行っている。学習済みネットワークの転移学習による画質改善の効率化についても詳細な検討を行った。本研究の実施によって得た知見は学会発表及び論文投稿を通じて公表した。
