Outline of Research at the Start

超音波増感剤である5-アミノレブリン酸(5-ALA)の投与により、その代謝産物であるプロ
トポルフィリンIX (PpIX)が標的となる腫瘍細胞内に選択的に蓄積する。そこに超音波を照
射することで腫瘍細胞に対して破壊効果を増強する、5-ALAを用いた超音波力学療法
(sonodynamic therapy, SDT)について、その効果を検証する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

超音波増感剤である5-アミノレブリン酸 (5-ALA)の投与により、その代謝産物であるプロ
トポルフィリンIX (PpIX)が標的となる腫瘍細胞内に選択的に蓄積し、そこに超音波を照
射することで腫瘍細胞に対して破壊効果を増強する、5-ALAを用いた超音波力学療法
(sonodynamic therapy, SDT)について、その効果を検証する目的に実験を開始した。
概ね順調な結果として、肝切除時における腫瘍同定や摘出時の根治性などについては良好な結果をしめしたが、SDTのみでの腫瘍の縮小効果とまでは言及不能であった。
