| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、学校を卒業した後の過ごし方に困難を抱える在宅重症心身障害児者を対象としたデイサービスの実施の在り方をガイドラインとして提案するものである。
現在、重症心身障害児者を受け入れるデイサービスは少なく、その理由のひとつが重症心身障害児者特有の慎重な体調管理にある。そのため、障がいの特性に適した支援内容を盛り込んだガイドラインを作成する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
With advances in medical care, the life expectancy of children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities (SMID) who require medical care has increased. Therefore, long-term support for SMID is expected to become necessary. In particular, after school graduation, SMID face the challenge of securing a place to stay and how to spend their time. This study set out to determine what kind of services would be needed. The study used a literature review to examine day services and a qualitative study to determine the nature of interventions for severely ill adolescent children. As a result, it was found that services for SMID should be based on physical health care to complement the burden of family caregiving and programs that incorporate the preferences of young people.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
在宅で生活する医療的ケアが必要な重症児は、生涯にわたって専門性の高い体調管理が必要である。しかし、同時に成長発達への支援も重要である。学校に通学する重症児に対する支援は充実してきたが、学校を卒業した重症児の生活面の支援はほとんど確立していない。学校を卒業した重症児に対して、看護師の体調管理の視点を取り入れた支援の在り方を提案することで、成人移行期の重症児の生活が豊かになることが期待できる。
