認知症高齢者の尊厳ある生活を支えるケアの一つとして、認知症の行動・心理症状(Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia; 以下、BPSD) への非薬物療法の重要性が示されている。特に、BPSDの一つである焦燥性興奮は、認知症高齢者に高頻度で発症しており、効果的なケアの確立が求められる。
そこで、本研究は焦燥性興奮のある認知症高齢者に対して入眠前のハンドマッサージを行うことによる効果を検証する。さらに、この結果を基に、高齢者ケア施設に導入するためのプログラムを作成する。

認知症高齢者の尊厳ある生活を支えるケアの一つとして、認知症の行動・心理症状 (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia; 以下、BPSD) への非薬物療法の重要性が示されている。特に、BPSDの一つである焦燥性興奮は、認知症高齢者に高頻度で発症しており、効果的なケアの確立が求められる。
2023年度は前年度から継続して、焦燥性興奮のある認知症高齢者に対して入眠前のハンドマッサージを行うことによる効果の検証として、無作為割付にて介入群と対照群に分けて、軽擦法を主としたハンドマッサージを実施した。対照群は、通常のケアのみとした。主要評価項目は、認知症高齢者の焦燥性興奮を評価する、コーエン・マンスフィールドagitation評価票日本語版とした。副次的評価項目は睡眠状態を客観的に評価するために「眠りSCAN; (パラマウント社NN-1520)」を用いた。
2023年度にリクルートを完了し、焦燥性興奮のある認知症高齢者に対するハンドマッサージの効果を検証した。

COVI-19による感染拡大の影響により、対象施設からの受け入れが断続的に中断した時期があったため、データ収集が遅延している。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
研究実施期間を2024年度まで延長し、2023年度に完了したハンドマッサージの効果の検証を踏まえ、高齢者ケア施設に導入するためのプログラムの作成を目指す。
具体的には、アクションリサーチにて高齢者ケア施設に導入するためのプログラムを検討し、作成する。
