Outline of Research at the Start

分類関数は, インターネット用ルータやパケット・フィルタ等の機能を数学的に表現したものである. 申請者は分類関数を実現するためにインデックス生成回路(IGU: Index Generation Unit)を考案した. IGUは, 線形回路とメモリを直列に接続した回路で、線形変換を用いることにより,メモリへの変数の個数pを削減する. これにより, 回路のコストも大幅に削減可能である. 本研究では, 入力数n が50 から500 程度の分類関数の変数の個数を削減する能率のよいアルゴリズムを開発する. 更に, 文字認識などの他の応用分野も探索する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

分類関数は, インターネット用ルータやパケット・フィルタ等の機能を数学的に表現したものである. 申請者は, 分類関数を線形回路と非線形回路に分解する方法(線形分解)を考案した, 線形分解では, 線形回路のコストは入力数nに比例する. もとのデータがn変数で, サンプル数がkの場合, 線形回路を用いると変数の個数を2log_2 k 個以下に削減できる. 従って, kが2^nに比べて十分小さい場合, 与えられたn変数関数を, 線形回路と非線形回路に分解することにより, 全体の回路のコストを大幅に削減できる. 今期は,
1. 分類関数の変数削減アルゴリズムを改良し, 入力数nが1000以上の場合にも実用時間内に解が得られるようなアルゴリズムを開発した(SASIMI-2024). 従来法では,サンプル数をkとしたとき, nk^2 の計算量が必要であった. 今回開発した方法では, 計算量がn^3 klog kである。従来法と今回開発した方法を併用すると, kが大きな関数に対しても短時間に良好な解が得られる.
2. 分類関数を機械学習に応用する場合, 変数削減や多値論理式の簡単化により, 汎化性能(テスト精度)を改良できることを実験的に示した. 学習容易な論理関数のクラスを探索した.コンピュータシミュレーションで予測精度の評価を行った. (IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems採録決定)
3. データマイニングや手書き数字認識などの機械学習の分野でも利用可能であることをUCI (University of California Irvine) のベンチマーク関数に関して実験を行い 確認した. また、これらの手法を纏めた単行本をSpringer Nature 社から出版した.

Reason

COVID-19による渡航制限が3年間続いたが, 渡航制限が解除されたので,
海外から研究者を招聘して共同研究をおこなった.
海外からの研究者の助けで英文の修正が効率的に行えたため、単行本の出版が円滑に行えた.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

分類関数の応用分野を開発し, その実用化を試みる. 近似合成について考察する。
