トルコ・アナトリアの文化遺産は、その地がたどってきた複雑な歴史ゆえに、たえず再利用・再解釈にさらされながら、重ね塗りのように形成されていった。他方で文化遺産は、それが価値づけられるに際し、結び付けられる文脈や置かれる場によって、いくつもの物語を生み出す。本研究では（1）文化遺産をめぐる複数の解釈が存在するなかで、トルコ共和国で何が「正しい物語」として選択され、それがどう構築されていくのかという戦略を問い、（2）文化遺産管理の担い手となったトルコ共和国にとって、みずからの体内に飲み込んだ「他者」の遺産が抱える価値とは何なのかを考察する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Owing to the complex history of the region, cultural heritage of Turkish Anatolia has been subjected to constant reuse and reinterpretation and has been formed like layers of paint. Cultural heritage, on the other hand, creates a number of narratives depending on the place in which it is located and the context in which it is evaluated. Given the existence of multiple interpretations of cultural heritage, this study (1) analyzed the strategies of what is selected as the ‘correct narrative’ and how it is constructed in the Republic of Turkey and (2) examined what it means for the Republic of Turkey to manage the cultural heritage of‘others' found in its territory.

本研究は、トルコ共和国内において、文化遺産をめぐる複数の解釈が存在しうるという前提から、ある解釈が「正しい物語」として取捨選択されていく過程、およびその戦略性を問うた。さらにはそれを鏡に、文化遺産管理の担い手となったトルコ共和国にとって、みずからの体内に飲み込んだ「他者」の遺産が抱える価値とは何なのかを照らし出した。とくに、他国、異文化との境界線に近い地域では、遺産管理のあり方をめぐる争いが先鋭化される状況が観察された。このことは、トルコ共和国内の個別的な問いが、文化遺産を管理するとはどういうことか、という一般的な命題へと昇華されうることを意味する。
