| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究の目的は、日韓中の境界領域で女性を中心に行われる村祭に注目し、その事例比較を通して東シナ海域の文化伝統を再考することにある。
具体的には、五島列島（日本・長崎県）、済州島（韓国・済州道）、舟山群島（中国・浙江省）・南台島（福建省福州市）を中心に今日の国境をこえた文化交流の痕跡が見られる島々の村落でフィールドワークを行う。そして、人々の日常生活を支える諸文脈（自然環境、生業、人間関係・集団等）や国家の支配を受けてきた村落の歴史に関する調査データをジェンダーの視座から考慮し、女性主体の共同祭祀を支える宗教的観念を比較検討する。さらに、海域共通の基層文化やコミュニケーションについて考察する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to reexamine the cultural traditions of the East China Sea region by focusing on women-led communal rituals in the border areas of Japan, South Korea, and China, and examining comparative cases from a gender perspective. Initially, the plan was to focus on collecting field data. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, field research became difficult, so the study primarily focused on literature research to develop an analytical framework for comparative case studies that incorporate a gender perspective. As a result, an effective analytical framework was established, and it was confirmed that rituals for the deceased without descendants and cases from Okinawa are important for examining the underlying beliefs of the East China Sea region. Field data also confirmed the importance of these two points. Future tasks include enhancing fieldwork and conducting comparative studies based on the analytical framework established in this study.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
学術的意義としては、女性主体の共同祭祀に、東シナ海域の人々の生活に深く埋め込まれた文化伝統を再考するために着目し、その比較事例研究を行うために有効となるジェンダーの視点を入れた分析視座を設定したこと、また現地調査を行う上で有効となる指標や事例を浮かび上がらせたことである。
社会的意義としては、これまで村落共同体において、周辺的扱いを受けてきた女性主体の信仰実践に注目することで、地域を支える女性の精神的営みが国民国家の枠組みを越えて、東シナ海域の文化伝統に繋がりうることを示すとともに、そのグローカルな文化遺産を受け継ぐことの重要性を示したことである。
