Outline of Research at the Start

これまで有機伝導体および有機半導体材料開発では、硫黄やセレンといった16族元素の導入による分子間相互作用の増大が大きな役割を果たしてきた。しかし、その本質的な効果は高周期元素に由来するものであるため、それ以外の元素を用いても効率的な電荷輸送を実現できるはずである。高周期元素として15族元素であるリンを組み込んだホスファアセン類を合成し、電荷輸送特性を評価することで、新たな高移動度有機半導体分子群の開拓を目指す。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

A pentacyclic phosphaacene incorporating a phosphorus atom was synthesized as a new organic semiconductor framework. X-ray crystallographic analysis revealed that its highly planar molecular structure and typical pi-stacking in crystal lattice suitable for OFET materials. In addition, its higher electron accepting ability than that of a carbon substituted analogue is promising for the application to the n-type organic semiconductors.

有機電界効果トランジスタはフレキシブルディスプレイやウェアラブルデバイスなどを駆動する有機エレクトロニクス素子として欠かせないものであるが、実用化に向けては電子を輸送するn型半導体の電荷移動度の向上が課題となっている。本研究では、電荷移動度の向上に重要な高周期元素を導入しつつ電子受容性の高い骨格を構築する新しい方法として、従来の硫黄原子に代わりリン原子に着目した分子設計を提案した。
