Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
This research aimed to clarify how feeling and expressing gratitude by saying 'thank you' in the workplace affects workers' mental and physical health, and we conducted a survey targeting workers. The results showed that people who tend to feel grateful for things in general and those who express 'thank you' more frequently tend to experience fewer physical and mental health issues. Although it is difficult to establish a causal relationship, maintaining a daily sense of gratitude may serve as a prescription for continuing to work energetically. Additionally, as the research period coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, we also participated in studies related to COVID-19 to verify whether gratitude could work preventively in some way, and published papers with findings regarding vaccination and other related topics.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
