Outline of Research at the Start

高精度で空間制御されたナノ磁性体のスピン配列により、水の濡れ性を制御する新奇な技術を確立し、これらを拡張することで、スピンを活用したソフトマテリアルの革新的制御手法を開発する。さらに同技術を界面制御技術へと高度化し、両系間の角運動量の受け渡しを実現する、すなわちスピントロニクスとソフトマテリアル材料の融合による新奇な量子物性分野の創生する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

これまでに立ち上げた微小水滴のダイナミクス評価装置をフル稼働させ、強磁性体のナノパターンを用いた流体制御の可能性を試みた。具体的には、パターンの無いSi基板表面、微細パターンを施した Si 基板表面、パターンの無い強磁性薄膜表面、ナノ磁性体によりパターニングした強磁性薄膜表面において、微小水滴の蒸発過程、接触角の時間変化、更にはそれらのサイズ依存性等を詳細に調べた。また、前年度に観測した細線端部における水滴反発現象、細線列状の水滴の異方性などを、強磁性細線を用いて再現を試み、同現象が増強されることを確認した。らのサイズ依存性等を詳細に調べた。これら一連の結果は、前年度に観測された新しい流体制御現象が、強磁性体を用いることで、効果的に発現することを示しており、革新的な流体制御実現に向けた大きな進展と考えられる。これらの現象に加えて、これまでに得られた磁性体パターンの考察と組み合わせることで、より制御性の高い革新的流体制御技術の開発を目指す。

Reason

2020年より、新型コロナによる活動制限のため実験に遅延が生じ、以降継続的に蓄積したため、最終年度までに予定していた実験計画が完了できなかった。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

実験自体は順調に進んでいるため、期間延長により、予定通りの実験が完了する予定である。また、実験を進めるうえで発見した新現象に関してもメカニズムを解明して、革新的流体制御へと高度化する。
