Outline of Research at the Start

対象システムにおける注目すべき構造的変化の要因や影響を説明する汎用的なデータ可視化手法を構築する。特に、局所の変化の特徴の間の関 係性を求めることにより、対象システムの変化について上下レベルのスケールを横断する説明を支援する階層型ネットワークの可視化を実現す る。新指標値Local Event’s Influence on the Global Entropy（LEIGE）を対象システムの大小さまざまなスケールの領域について計算し、 各領域のLEIGEが上下と近隣の領域のLEIGEに影響する度合いを計算する新手法を基礎とする。消費市場、世論の偏り、 地震現象の変化等の説明に適用してゆく。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

階層型エントロピーの計算手法を用いて、局所的なダイナミクスが広範囲に影響を与える効果とその変化の説明を可能となる効果を、複数の応用領域に適用して示した。
ひとつは、新型コロナウィルス感染症（COVID-19）等の感染拡大において、各地域の人流の多様性を定量化した移動方向エントロピー（Moving Direction Entropy: MDE）を開発し、その値が、市区町村という単位（10km四方相当）で地域における単位人口あたりの感染者数に高い相関性を示すことを見出した。これは地域の「賑わい」を表すとの都市工学的観点から、1km, 100mという小規模なメッシュごとのMDE値も研鑽したところ、当該地域に居住を希望する人の多い度合いとの高い相関を見出したことから、空間粒度の階層性の上下を貫いて人々の賑わいの本質を階層型エントロピー構造が捉えることを検証し、医医療情報学関連ジャーナルにおいて特筆すべき掲載論文としてフィーチャーされた。緊急事態宣言等の国策はこの観点からの高リスク地域を網羅していなかった結果として感染が拡大した地域もあったことを示した。さらに100m以下の高粒度でMDEのヒートマップを可視化すると、駅周辺における再開発の効果が周辺地域に拡大する過程を説明する効果も得て、IEEE Bigdata特別セッションにおいて優秀賞を得た。
また、金融市場の構造的変化の検知と原因説明を可能とする成果を得た。市場の多様性（エントロピーに相当）を階層的に把握し、各階層の多様性を統合した市場構造の複雑性の不連続な変化が社会的影響力の高い事（例えばコロナ禍による経済的影響）によって引き起こされたことを定性的に説明することに成功した。このアプローチはアセットの種類ごとにマーケットを分割する分析手法にも拡張し、人工知能学会、IEEE Bigdata特別セッションにおいて優秀賞を得た。

Reason

上記の通り適用研究もほぼ順調に推進して予定の研究期間を終了したのであるが、金融における多様性指標の連続値に拡張すること、都市のにぎわいに関して粗粒度（上位階層）におけるエントロピーと細粒度（下位階層）におけるエントロピーの関連付けあるいは比較を行うことによって、階層構造の意味を説明するという新たな目標が生まれ、これ研究を達成したい。
これは元の研究計画に対する遅れではないが、金融および都市デザインの分野における共同研究に発展した結果として提示された実社会の問題を進めて最終成果としたいことを意味している。また、これらの分野における実業界から提供された共同研究費によって本研究の余裕が生じ、本研究の予算消化を急ぐ必要がなかったことも理由である。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

金融における多様性指標の連続値に拡張することによって、時間解像度の細かい変化についての説明力を高めることが、クオンツアナリスト等の実務的な要請に答えることを、論文あるいは当該分野の専門家のコメントとして得ることにより、本研究の学術的意義のみならず社会的意義を示したい。
また、都市のにぎわいに関して粗粒度（上位階層）におけるエントロピーと細粒度（下位階層）におけるエントロピーの関連付けあるいは比較を行うことによって、階層構造の意味を説明することについても同様に、地方自治体における市政、都市再開発の専門家等によるコメント、あるいはこれを裏付けとする研究発表によって本研究の社会的意義を示したい。
以上によって、本研究の当初の目的である社会的変化の意味説明を実社会に還元し、実際に用いられる段階に送って本研究を完了したい。
