Outline of Research at the Start

高齢化の進む中、企業の新陳代謝において自主的な退出が趨勢となった。倒産による退出が減ったことは、企業のセレクションにおいて、銀行の果たす役割が限定的であることを意味する。本研究は、自主的な退出における新たな企業のセレクションの仕組みを検討することを目的とする。企業活動は複雑な企業間ネットワークの上になりたっており、退出の連鎖を引き起こす。退出の連鎖は企業間ネットワークという地域の無形資産の崩壊、マクロの生産性の低下につながる。自主的な退出を代表者の交代および高齢化、企業間ネットワークの観点から実証的に明らかにし、理論モデルの構築、複数のシナリオにおける政策評価を行う。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

高齢化の進む中、企業の新陳代謝において自主的な退出が趨勢となり、倒産による退出が減ったことは、企業のセレクションにおいて、銀行の果たす役割が限定的であることを意味する。
本研究は、自主的な退出における企業のセレクションのメカニズムを企業間ネットワークにおける退出の連鎖、地理的なフリクションとともに明らかにすることを目的とする。
初年度に整備した実証分析のためのデータベースをもとに、企業の退出形態による、退出の連鎖の違いについて、特に東日本大震災における外生的なショックを用いることにより、因果関係の識別を試みたが、ショック後の政府介入により、退出率は低下することから、頑強な分析結果を得ることができず、ショックへの対応を生産の調整によるもの（intensive margin）と企業の退出によるもの（extensive margin）に分類し、recoveryなどの動学的な性質の違いを比較することは困難となった。
コロナ禍においても、同様に退出率の低下がみられ、企業の異質性に焦点を移して、企業の浄化作用について、ワーキングペーパーを執筆し、公開した。雇用との関係については、ワーキングペーパーに公開するとともに、学術論文にも多数アクセプトされている。識別戦略を検討することは困難であったが、コロナ禍における、取引ネットワーク構築における地理的なフリクションの変化や、リカバリーについて分析を進めている。

初年度に整備した実証分析のためのデータベースをもとに、国際共同研究を進め、分析結果のワーキングペーパーなども公開、学術論文にもアクセプトされている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

東日本大震災などの経済ショックを因果関係の識別に用いる予定であったが、
ショック後の政府介入により、退出率は低下することから、分析に用いることは困難であり、
コロナショックへの政策的な示唆を得たが、因果関係の識別よりも、異質性に焦点をあて、
ショックからのリカバリーや取引ネットワーク構築における地理的なフリクションの変化に着目する。
