| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、若年齢層の運動競技者におけるイップスに対して、最新の認知行動療法であるアクセプタンス＆コミットメント・セラピー（ACT）の有効性を検討し、ACTを用いたイップスの心理的支援プログラムの確立に向けた研究を行う。
具体的には、①調査研究によって、ACTが扱う心理的変数とイップス症状の関連を明らかにする。②イップスを抱える者に対するACTの効果検証を行う。本研究では、主に野球の送球イップスに焦点を当てる。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Amateur baseball players (N = 292, mean age = 23.25, SD = 7.53) living in Japan completed a self-report questionnaire. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis indicated that a low values-based throwing score, a high Cognitive Fusion Questionnaire score, and over-reprimanding others' mistakes were positively associated with baseball players' yips symptoms. These results suggest that changing the context of playing baseball, reducing cognitive fusion, and improving coaching methods could reduce the risk of baseball players’ throwing yips.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
イップスに対して、理論に基づいた具体的な支援方法は存在していない。そのような中で、本研究では、認知行動療法のAcceptance and Commitment Therapy: ACTの理論に基づき、イップスの改善に必要な要素をデータによって明らかにしている。本研究課題によって、イップスに悩む方への具体的な支援方法に繋がる結果が得られているため、学術的にも社会的にも非常に意義が大きいと考えられる。
