Outline of Research at the Start

認知心理学分野における文化比較研究は盛んに行われてきたが，その多くは「東洋」対「西洋」のモデルに基づいた研究であり，調査地の選択は場当たり的な傾向が強く，大学生対象の実験室実験が大半を占めてきた。これらの問題点に対して，オンライン調査，マルチラボ研究，フィールドワーク型実験等の新しい方法論が近年展開されてきたが，多くの問題点が指摘されている。本研究は認知心理学における文化間比較研究の諸問題に系統的に取り組み，日フィンでの実験室実験・フィールド実験を通じて，両国の地域内文化差と地域間文化差を検討し，「東洋」対「西洋」モデルを実験的に検証し，認知心理学における「文化差」の再定義を目指している。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、日本とフィンランドの大学で実験室データを統制群として取得しながら、フィールドワーク型実験 (以下フィールド実験と略す) を展開し，同じ国における集団間文化差 (地域内多様性) を定量的に測定し，それを踏まえて日フィン両国間の文化差 (地域間多様性) を検討することを目的とする。
今年度も予定している研究テーマについて研究を進め，研究代表者と分担者が各自のプロジェクトをリードして進めている。フィンランドへの渡航ならびにフィールド調査は新型コロナウイルス感染症流行，ウクライナ情勢ならびに円安などの影響でまだ実現に至っていないが，フィンランド側の研究協力者が積極的に実験室実験を行い，表情認知とマガーク効果のプロジェクトに関しての実験は順調に進んでおり，うちマガーク効果に関する共著論文は今年度掲載された。
また，今年度もオンラインミーティングやSlackでの細かい情報交換を行い，研究を順調に推進している。日本チームでの研究集会は2024年3月に九州大学で開催し，これまでの成果を取りまとめ，次年度の研究・渡航計画や，本研究の次の発展として基盤研究（A）の申請計画などについて詳細に議論した。 今年度は研究代表者と分担者それぞれのチームで，日本とフィンランドの両国で地域間分散を検討する際の統制群となる，実験室実験のデータの取得が完了し，それぞれについて得られた結果の成果発表を行い，業績として査読付き論文３編，国際学会発表３件を行った。
これと並行して，次年度以降にフィールドワーク型実験を展開するための準備として，錯視実験を中心にオンライン型実験バッテリーの開発も進め，フィンランドでのフィールド実験の準備も完了した。
次年度はフィンランドへの渡航を実施し，ヘルシンキ大学との共同調査をラップランド地域で実施し，さらに最終年度のための研究成果の取りまとめを中心に本研究を進めたいと考える。

Reason

コロナ禍などの影響により，今年度もフィンランドへの渡航は実現できなかったが，これまで遠隔対応や実験の経験を踏まえ，今年度は日本・フィンランド両国での実験室実験が順調に行い，査読論文の掲載や国際学会での発表など，ちゃく質な研究業績をあげた。当初計画していたフィンランドへの渡航は実現できなかったが，進捗をリカバリーして日本・フィンランドサイドでの研究活動は順調に進めているため，現在までの進捗状況を「おおむね順調に進展している」とする。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2024年度はまず実現したいのはフィンランドへの渡航と共同研究の実施である。また，これまでの研究成果を取りまとめ，査読論文や学会発表などの業績につながる活動を継続的に行う。最後に，本研究の発展として，基盤研究（A）を含め，新しい研究プロジェクトの申請を行い，これまで蓄積してきたネットワークと方法論を活かし，次の発展に繋がっていきたい。
