Outline of Research at the Start

第1に,過去数百~数千年間に海中から移動し,陸域に打ち上げられた巨礫の移動限界とその分布について,北西太平洋を対象に国際共同調査を実施し,近年および記録のない過去イベントで発生した巨礫の大きさ,物性,年代および沿岸地形について計測し,巨礫群の詳細な特性を把握する.第2に,巨礫の分布特性を説明可能な巨礫移動モデルを国際共同開発する.第3に,近年移動した巨礫の調査結果を元に,外力である沿岸域の暴波浪およびスーパー台風特性を逆推定する手法を開発し,最後に確率台風モデル等を組合せ,過去巨礫群を説明可能な1万年単位の最大級の暴波浪とスーパー台風の強度についての逆推定を実施する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では,過去数百~数千年間に海中から移動し,陸域に打ち上げられた巨礫の移動限界とその分布について,北西太平洋を対象に国際共同調査・モデル開発を実施する.このため,近年および記録のない過去イベントで発生した巨礫の大きさ,物性,年代および沿岸地形について計測し,巨礫群の詳細な特性を把握する.第2に,巨礫の分布特性を説明可能な巨礫移動モデルを国際共同開発する.第3に,近年移動した巨礫の調査結果を元に,外力である沿岸域の暴波浪およびスーパー台風特性を逆推定する手法を開発し,最後に確率台風モデル等を組合せ,過去巨礫群を説明可能な1万年単位の最大級の暴波浪とスーパー台風の強度についての逆推定を実施する.
令和5年度は,3つの研究項目について以下のように研究を進めた.
研究項目1では,前年度引き続き近年の極端イベントにより移動が確認されている近代巨礫群の位置,3D形状,物性,陸上および海底地形の計測を行った.観測フィールドは,沖縄南西諸島の宮古島で調査の実施した.研究項目2の数値モデル開発では,質点移動として台風石の移動をリーフ上の流体力推定から生成,回転・並行移動を計算する数値巨礫移動モデルをノートルダム大学と協議しつつ開発を継続した.研究項目3では,大気再解析値および気候モデルをもとに,過去の波浪・台風の50年以上の長期評価を北西太平洋を対象に実施した.世界に散らばる巨礫群の情報をシェアするために,ノートルダム大学グループを中心としてデータベースの作成を開始した.
