Outline of Research at the Start	本国際共同研究は、基課題において実施が困難であった長期的な現地調査を集中的に実施することで基課題からの発展を目指す。本国際共同研究では、代表者が責任を持つ遺跡の照合に必要な考古学に関する知見を深め、(1)調査隊を派遣した欧州諸国、およびシルクロード地帯を擁する中国に長期間滞在し、両地域の研究者とともに探険隊が撮影した高解像度古写真の検討を行うことで探険隊当時の情報を集積し、（2）現存遺跡に関する現地調査を行い、（3）デジタル化済み資料の相互利用などの方法を探ることで、基課題からの発展を目指す。
