Outline of Research at the Start	20世紀都市の社会経済史学上の一義的意義は、両大戦間期に非労働時間としての余暇の増大が大衆消費社会の本格的展開を促進するとともに、余暇のあり方が初めて社会政策上の課題として認識された点に見いだされる。本研究では両大戦間期の日独社会で展開された全体主義的な余暇の組織化モデルの比較分析を通じて、日欧都市において余暇の組織化が共時的に展開され得たことの要因とその社会経済史的意義を解明することをめざす。この研究を通じて、日欧都市史研究を架橋した20世紀都市史像を描出するとともに、現代社会を理解する上での都市史研究の意義を問いかけることが期待できる。
