Research Abstract |
Overexpression of Sox9 in articular chondrocytes resulted in delay of osteoarthritis change. In addition, genome-wide screening using GeneChip with chondrocytes derived mouse articular cartialge, Sox9-EGFP mice, and Sox9-EGFP null chimera identified one gene involved in osteoarthritis and one gene induced by Sox9. Furthermore, screening of about 10000 chemical reagents using Sox9-EGFP chondrocytes revealed 7 chemical reagents which has Sox9-indecing activity.
