Research Abstract |
The project leader has been developing a data analysis system for population and family studies on Japan in the 17th-19th centuries. We call this system DANJURO. We are trying to reconstruct demographic transition model in order to understand the transition from early modern to modern society in Japan. In this project, we have test-constructed a historical GIS with DANJURO data. New DANJURO shows the population distribution and the internal migration on the digital map and enable to make spatio-temporal analysis.
