| Research Abstract |
Exercise training prevented the infiltration of inflammatory macrophages to adipose tissue and exerted anti-inflammatory effects for obesity-related chronic inflammation. A high fat diet increased Toll-like receptor 2 expression in peritoneal macrophages and enhanced systemic inflammation. On the other hand, exercise training enhanced expression of ghrelin, which exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects in peritoneal macrophages, suggesting that exercise training suppresses a high fat diet-induced inflammation through ghrelin.
