官能基熱分解が駆動する炭化物の迅速水蒸気ガス化

Research Abstract

前年度の研究によって得られた成果,すなわち,(1)900℃における平均反応速度が0.11/sを上回るチャーの迅速水蒸気ガス化のエビデンスを得たこと,(2)無触媒および含有金属種による触媒的ガス化が同時進行するLangmuir-Hinshelwood型並列反応速度モデルを実証したこと,を踏まえ,今年度は,熱重量分析装置を用いて豪州Loy Yang褐炭の低昇温速度域(3~20℃/min)における水蒸気ガス化について,1)精密な実験データに基づく反応速度解析,2)900℃まで熱分解したチャーのex-situガス化と600℃まで熱分解したチャーのin-situガス化の比較による迅速ガス化の実証,を検討した.反応速度解析結果から,ex-situガス化はゼロ次式で表される,すなわちチャーに含まれる金属種の触媒作用が主となりガス化が進行することがわかった.官能基熱分解がガス化に全く影響を与えない場合,ex-situガス化と熱分解の重量減少率の和がin-situガス化のそれと等しくなる.しかしながら,反応速度解析結果から推算した熱分解とex-situガス化による重量減少率の和とin-situガス化の重量減少率実験結果は全く異なるものであり,これは官能基熱分解がガス化速度の向上に寄与するためであることが判明した.触媒作用の影響を排除するため酸処理により金属を除去した同様の実験ではその効果(反応速度の差)がより顕著になり,さらに昇温速度の増加が700~850℃におけるin-situガス化速度を向上させることがわかり,例えば20℃/minでは,ex-situガス化の場合の2.1倍の反応速度が得られた.このように,高昇温速度域の迅速なin-situガス化を裏付けるものであり,かつ官能基熱分解駆動型ガス化の効果を600~900℃という連続した温度範囲において明瞭に示す反応機構解明の手がかりとなる重要なデータを得た
