Research Abstract |
Through investigation of the archival documents owned by Bukko-ji and temples of the Bukko-ji school, it wasu confirmed that the reason of the prosperity of the Keien school initiated by Kageki Kagawa was largely attributed to the dissemination of the Kageki`s essays on waka poetry and waka poems among priest and followers of the Bukkou-ji school of Shinshu sect. Also, based on the result of the investigation on the documets passed down templs of Shinshu sects including that of the Bukko-ji school and family of followers , various biographies of Shinran and so on, following fact was revealed. In the middle of 17th century, at the same prriod when the head temple of each school of Shinshu sect was raised to associate monzeki as part of temple control policy of Edo Shognate, Shinran`s being from court nobles and expert of waka poems became emphasized among ordinary people, and such images of Shinran enabledthe intimate connection between the Bukko-ji School and the Keien School.
