Research Abstract |
In my research, I used a text database and Katakana letter's image database of Shoukuu-bon-Shikashuu. Shoukuu was a Buddhist priest in the Kamakura period and he wrote 41 Shikashu(Waka anthology) in Katakana letters. Shoukuu's writing contains few of artistic elements such as' Renmen' or variations of form of letter, and it contains functional elements such as' Kanadzukai'(Japanese orthography) the same as the original text written in Hiragana letters.
