Research Abstract |
A qualitative study of English as a lingua franca for inter-ethnic communication was conducted in the Republic of Kosovo. Among the Post-Yugoslav Generation, without knowledge of the language of other ethnic group, they would choose English if they know, however, it is regarded as rather "compromise" as a supplementary neutral language than their positive choice as a common language. However, English is respected as their additional language to gain access to global communities.
