Research Abstract |
This study examined allocation system of airport slot as a public property. We investigated (1) whether carriers’ strategic behaviors have impeded effective functioning of the slot market and (2) whether carriers using the slot-constrained airports have hoarded underutilized slots by abusing the slot system. The results of analyses suggest that (1) effective functioning of the slot market has been impeded and (2) there is potential evidence that carriers have hoarded slots at some airports
