Research Abstract |
Li^+ ion dynamics and changes in local structure were induced by milling in piezoelectric materials, olivine lithium phosphate, and lithium transition-metal oxides. Lattice disorder induced in structure by milling is disadvantageous to Li^+ ionic conduction in LiCoO_2 and LiMn_2O_4, while it remarkably induces Li^+ ion diffusion in some piezoelectric oxides including lithium.
