Research Abstract |
Our yeast genetic screening successfully identified Art5, one of α-arrestins, as a novel regulator of Dnf1/2 phospholipid flippases. We found that Art5 may condition phospholipid asymmetry of biomembranes, mediated by its binding with Dnf1/2. In addition, we developed a novel method to analyze functions of PHOT kinases, plant homologues of yeast Fpk1/2 flippase kinases, by producing them in the living yeast system.
