Research Abstract |
We have succeeded in making recombinant chitinase-secreting Escherichia coli that possess no ability for chitin oligosaccharide consumption. By cultivating this transformed bacteria in liquid medium containing powdered chitin, though yield was still low, N, N'-diacetylchitobiose was produced from chitin.
