Research Abstract |
Biological fate of two serotonin derivatives which prevent life-style related diseases were examined to evaluate antioxidant activity in vivo. These compounds were detected in rat blood plasma in their intact forms after oral administration, although their plasma concentrations were low levels. In contrast, high amount of metabolites derived from original serotonin derivatives were also detected in blood plasma suggesting possibility that these metabolites contribute prevention of life-style related diseases.
